Sean Stewart is the Country Manager for Viatris New Zealand where he oversees the strategic direction of the business and leads a team of industry experts to provide improved patient access to high quality, trusted medicine.
Since joining the business in 2018, he has played an integral role in the company’s transition to Viatris, through the combination of pharmaceutical businesses Mylan and Upjohn, a legacy division of Pfizer. More recently, Sean has led the team to develop creative approaches to address and cover critical pharmaceutical supply issues due to the global pandemic.
With over 25 years of experience in senior management positions, with companies such as Douglas Pharmaceuticals and Pacific Pharmaceuticals, Sean has a wealth of experience to draw on as he leads the New Zealand team to deliver excellent patient care across the country.
Prior to his position at Viatris, Sean was a member of the global supply chain team for Mylan Pharmaceuticals, where he completed multiple business improvement projects in Australia and Japan. Sean has also held other management roles in Africa, United Kingdom, and Australia.
He is proud to lead a team that is focused on continuous development and individual leadership, and who work passionately as a strong team towards the company mission of ensuring access to essential medicines and empowering New Zealanders to live healthier at every stage of life.
