Deborah Owen is Head of Regulatory Affairs ANZ for Viatris where she leads her teams in all areas related to the approval and compliance of Viatris medicines across the regions.
Deborah began her career in the UK, which is where she also completed her tertiary education, earning a Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours at the University of Nottingham. Her early roles were in Medical Affairs both in the UK and in Australia.
In 1998 Deborah made the move to New Zealand, where she first worked as Medical Editor developing an electronic prescribing database. Two years later she moved back to the pharmaceutical industry, and then in late 2003 joined Pacific Pharmaceuticals who later changed names to Mylan and now to Viatris.
With over 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Deborah brings an invaluable understanding of the industry and a highly specialised skillset to her role as Head of Regulatory Affairs ANZ.
